According to Peter King of MMQB.com, a source has informed him that the Tennesee Titans have a “definite solid offer” for the number 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. King says that if the team makes the deal just a little bit better, the Titans could be convinced to trade down.
King also mentions that the Philadelphia Eagles are a team to keep an eye on and could be interested in trading up to the number 1 spot. The Eagles own the 8th overall pick which would not be too far back for the Titans to drop if they made the trade. It is well known that the Titans are willing to hear trade offers for the No. 1 pick and teams such as the Cowboys, 49ers, Jets, and Eagles have already shown interest in the pick.
The Jets might be out of the running as they are reportedly still in discussions with Ryan Fitzpatrick to be their starting quarterback again this coming season. Rich Cimini of ESPN commented on the situation:
From what I understand, the offer is better than the $7 million to $8 million that is being reported, which means the low-ball perception isn’t quite accurate.
It seems that Fitzpatrick is weighing out his options before signing a new deal.
