The Houston Texans will now be without both their starting quarterback and starting running back from the 2015 season when they head into 2016. After releasing Arian Foster earlier in the 2016 offseason, the Texans have now decided to part ways with Brian Hoyer as well, according to Allyssa Lee of FOX Sports.
The decision for Houston to part ways with Hoyer isn’t exactly shocking after the team signed Brock Osweiler. What may garnish a bit more interest, is that the New York Jets, who are still negotiating with Ryan Fitzpatrick to return, reportedly have interest in Hoyer.
Also, Jets have interest in Brian Hoyer, as they did a year ago. Very likely to schedule a visit with him soon, quite possibly this week

Did the door just open for the Jets to not have to raise their offer to Fitzpatrick? It seems possible, and there’s a pretty strong chance that they could get Hoyer for quite a bit less than they’d have to pay for Fitzmagic. Time will tell, but don’t be shocked to see something happen with this rumor.
