Mark Sanchez is going to get a battle for the No. 1 quarterback role with the Denver Broncos. It may be from Colin Kaepernick, it may be from a rookie, or his biggest competition may just be Denver’s other current quarterback, Trevor Siemian.
One way or another, Sanchez is going to have some competition. For now, though, he’s doing all he can to step up as a leader for the Broncos, a team who just lost not only Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, but also Brock Osweiler as well.
In a recent report from Mike Klis of Colorado’s 9 News, Sanchez went ahead and brought out some of his Broncos wide receivers to California for his passing camp.
“It shows he wants to come in and get to know us before OTAs start,” Broncos receiver Bennie Fowler said Sunday afternoon from California. “I think it’s really good. It’s going to help us get off to a good start.”
Even Siemian sounded off on Sanchez, calling him a “good dude,” according to Klis.
“It’ll be nice to get some work in,” Siemian said. “Mark set this whole thing up. He’s a good dude from everything I’ve been hearing.”
It may be all love right now, but whether it’s Sanchez against Siemian or Sanchez against Siemian and another quarterback, you can bet that things are going to heat up once the 2016 NFL offseason rolls around in Denver.
