Josh Norman has always played to prove others wrong and this season will be no different. After a brilliant 2015 season where he established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the league, the Carolina Panthers decided to cut him. He ended up signing with the rival Washington Redskins.
Norman talked about his former team in an interview with Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report recently, and when asked if he thought the Panthers “underestimated” him Norman said, “You have to ask them that. But obviously, there was some of that.”
Norman opened up, even more going on to say:
People are always underestimating me. I think it happened when I came into the NFL. I think it happened every game I’ve played. Guys think they can beat me or I’m not that fast or I can’t really cover. They miss a lot until the game starts…I think it falls under the category of ‘You don’t know what you don’t know.’ I think fans and even some players see me on TV or film but don’t get all that I do. They don’t see the time that I put in. They don’t see the film study or the teamwork. But once that game starts, then they know.
The Redskins will host the Panthers on December 19th this season and the league made sure it is on Monday Night Football for everyone to enjoy.
