According to ESPN, league sources confirmed that Denver Broncos general manager John Elway personally called Von Miller over the Fourth of July weekend in hopes of working out a long-term deal. The two sides have gone almost an entire month without speaking.

The report states that Elway and Miller spoke for about 10 to 15 minutes. Elway even told Miller that the team still loves him and wants him to re-sign. The deadline to work out long-term deals with players who have been given the franchise tag is July 15th. Miller has said all along that he will not play under the 2016 franchise tag.
