We hit it big with our quarterback plays last week with Ben Roethlisberger and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Roethlisberger put up 33.2 fantasy points, making him the top quarterback in week 5. Fitzpatrick finished with just 15.1 fantasy points but was still a great value play for his price, especially since we stacked him with Brandon Marshall. Once again DraftKings is running their “$1.25 Million “Play Action” contest where a $3 entry could end up winning you $50k.
We are breaking down the top plays on DraftKings at each position, starting with quarterbacks. So here are the high-priced, mid-priced and low-priced top plays for Week 6.
*Just to note, we will not be including Thursday night players in this write-up.
Top DraftKings high-priced plays ($7,000-$8,100)
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers ($8,100)
Cam Newton is coming back from missing last week with a concussion with an extremely nice matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The two weeks before his injury, Newton put up 16.08 and 15.6 fantasy points respectively. A lot of fantasy players will be off Cam because of these number and because of his price tag of $8,100. This could work in our favor for lower ownership. It is just too hard not to roster Cam this week against the Saints defense, especially with the Panthers needing to get their second win of the season.
Top DraftKings mid-priced plays ($6,000-$6,900)
Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals ($6,000)
I am extremely excited to use Carson Palmer this week in my daily fantasy lineups. His Cardinals take on the New York Jets on Monday night. The Jets pass defense is absolutely terrible and just allowed Big Ben to put up 33.2 fantasy points. In fact, the Jets rank 30th in the NFL in fantasy points allowed the quarterback position this season. Palmer is in a similar position as Newton, coming back from missing last week with a concussion and playing poorly in the two games before that. If you are playing a Sunday-Monday contest then Palmer will be a nice option at quarterback, especially at his cheap price of just $6,000 on DraftKings.
Top DraftKings low-priced plays ($5,000-$5,900)
Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills ($5,300)
The best value play this week is no other than Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The Bills will host the San Fransico 49ers which makes for a great matchup for Taylor. The 49ers rank 19th overall against opposing quarterbacks. Taylor has only scored more than 20 DraftKings fantasy points once this season and that was in week 1. Taylor will put up over 20 fantasy points for the second time this season on Sunday.
