Last week our top running back plays were straight fire. Le’Veon Bell put up 25.8 DraftKings fantasy points, Melvin Gordon posted a season-high 24.9 and Jordan Howard exceeded his value with 19.2 with a salary of just $3,700. This week we have some interesting running back play that should have similar outcomes.
Remember to enter DraftKings $1.25 million “Play Action” and take home $50k from just a $3 buy-in. Here are our top plays for DraftKings this week at running back. Let’s get after it.
*Just to note, we will not be including Thursday night players in this write-up.
Top DraftKings high-priced plays ($7,000-plus)
Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburg Steelers ($7,500)
For the second straight week, Le’Veon Bell has made our top plays list. He does not have the best matchup against the Jets (who are worse against the pass), but Bell is versatile enough to have a huge game. The Steelers should be up the entire game which means they will be feeding the ball to Bell, especially late in the game.
Melvin Gordon, San Diego Chargers ($7,000)
Might as well ride the hot hand and keep Melvin Gordon on this list once again. Gordon is coming off his best fantasy game of the season and he will now face the Oakland Raiders. Gordon could easily surpass last week’s stat line because he is just as dangerous in the passing game as he is on the ground.
Top DraftKings mid-priced plays ($5,000-$6,900)
Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears ($5,200)
Jordan Howard’s price jumped from $3,700 last week to $5,200 this week, but he has value for the production he can put up. The Bears take on the Colts this week who rank 30th against running backs so far this year. If the Bears defense can keep Andrew Luck in check and have control of the game then look for Howard to have another big game. I expect Howard to have a touchdown this week which he was missing in week 4.
Top DraftKings low-priced plays ($4,900-under)
Jerick McKinnon, Minnesota Vikings ($4,000)
Last week against the Giants, Jerick McKinnon put up an impressive 18.5 DraftKings fantasy points. His salary only went up $100 because Matt Asiata is still there to vulture fantasy points away from McKinnon. It looks as if McKinnon will be getting most of the carries and should be one of the best value plays this week.
DeAndre Washington, Oakland Raiders ($3,400)
With Latavious Murray out this week, the door opens for DeAndre Washington. Washington is expected to get the majority of the snaps, but there is a chance that Jalen Richard could split the carries. The Raiders take on the Chargers who give up the most fantasy point to running back in the league so far this season. Washington is worth the risk in GPPs this week with a salary of just $3,400 on DraftKings.
