We have made it to week 4 and that means it’s the first bye week of the NFL season. The two teams on bye this week are the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles. DraftKings is running their $1.25 Million “Play Action” contest where a $3 entry could end up winning you a cool $50k.
We are breaking down the top plays on DraftKings at each position, starting with quarterbacks. So here are the high-priced, mid-priced and low-priced top plays for Week 4.
*Just to note, we will not be including Thursday night players in this write-up.
Top DraftKings high-priced plays ($7,000-$7,800)
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers ($7,800)
Cam Newton will be looking to respond with a big game after throwing 3 interceptions against the Vikings last week. He finished with just 16.08 DraftKings fantasy points. But the good news is that Cam and the Panthers will have a great matchup against the Falcons. Cam has the highest ceiling of any quarterback this week and can be used in both cash games or GPP contest since he can rack up points through the air and the ground.
Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions ($7,300)
After an ugly first half, last week against the Packers, Matt Stafford and the Lions came back to make a game of it. Stafford finished with over 300 passing yards and 3 touchdowns to finish with 30.5 DraftKings fantasy points. This week the Lions will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears. The Bears struggle at home and their defense already has taken multiple hits with injuries. I do not see playing from behind like they did last week but I do see a potential shootout in this game especially if Jay Cutler is healthy enough to play.
Top DraftKings mid-priced plays ($6,000-$6,900)
Kirt Cousins, Washington Redskins ($6,500)
If Ryan Tannehill can put up over 300 passing yards against the Browns then Kirt Cousins has to be on your radar this week. Cousins put up 296 passing yards and threw 2 touchdowns against the Giants last week and should be in store for a good fantasy game again this week. With a great matchup and a reasonable price we like Cousins in week 4.
Phillip Rivers, San Diego Chargers ($6,900)
Picking on the New Orleans Saints defense seems like a winning strategy so this week the winner is Phillip Rivers. It’s too bad that Keenen Allen tore his ACL because that stack would have been very profitable. Rivers spreads the ball all around the field and does not seem to have a favorite target yet, but the good thing is that he should be able to light up the Saints just like most teams already have this season.
Top DraftKings low-priced plays ($5,000-$5,900)
Blane Gabbert, San Fransico 49ers ($5,000)
Blane Gabbert may fly under the radar this week considering he put up just 5.96 DraftKings points this past weekend against the Seattle Seahawks. Good news for Gabbert is that he faces a less scary defense in the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys defense allowed Brian Hoyer to rack up 22.38 DraftKings fantasy points last Sunday night. I see a similar game from Gabbert this week which would definitely outweigh his minimum salary.
