Wide receiver is the most entertaining position to draft in daily fantasy. Salaries have a wide range from $3,000 up to $9,600 and they have potential to score 20+ fantasy points. The key to a winning lineup is finding a balance of top plays based on salary. This week DraftKings is offering a $3 contest where first place takes home $50,000 in the $1.25 million Play-Action.
*Just to note, we will not be including Thursday night players in this write-up.
Top DraftKings high-priced plays
Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons ($9,500)
Julio Jones is no stranger to being labeled a top play and this week is no different. His Falcons take on the Saints who have already given up huge games to wide receivers already in their first two games. The over/under in this game is set at 53 1/2 which is the highest in week 3. This means there will be a lot of touchdowns and fantasy points to be up for grabs. Jones has not had a huge game yet this season, but I feel like we will see him breakout this week.
Antonio Brown, Pittsburg Steelers ($9,600)
Last week a lot of fantasy players were burned by the Steelers offense. Antonio Brown finished with just 4 catches for 39 yards in a rainy game against the Bengals. Hopefully, Brown’s ownership will be lower than normal after a 7.9 fantasy game last week. Despite the lack of production, Brown was still targeted 11 times last week. I see a huge week coming up from Brown since his Steelers will face off against the Eagles Sunday afternoon. Brown has the highest ceiling out of any wide receiver going into week 3.
Top DraftKings mid-priced plays
Jarvis Landry ($6,600)
Another wide receiver with a nice matchup is the Dolphins Jarvis Landry. He goes up against the Browns secondary who are known to give up big plays to wide receivers. Landry is coming off a 10 reception 135-yard performance against the Patriots. In daily fantasy, you always want to target guys that get a lot of targets and Landry had 10 in week 1 and 13 last week.
Allen Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars ($7,500)
The Jaguars offense and Allen Robinson have struggled to start the season. Week 1 Robinson put up 13.2 fantasy points and last week he dipped down to just 8.4 fantasy points. Due to the lack of production, I see Robinson being low owned this week which is a great spot to roster a number one wide receiver with big game potential. His salary is down to $7,500 after starting the season at $8,300.
Top DraftKings low-priced plays
Cole Beasley, Dallas Cowboys ($3,200)
Cole Beasley is in a great position to provide value with his low salary. Using a wide receiver with a price of $3,200 really opens up your lineup to roster stud plays. Dak Prescott trusts Beasley as you can tell by his 12 targets in week 1 and six targets last week. The Cowboys face the Bears, who have lost multiple starters on defense to injury. Beasley will be a nice value play this week and could be key to winning lineup.
Terrelle Pryor, Cleveland Browns ($3,400)
Terrelle Pryor should get the majority of the targets this week for the Browns with Josh Gordon suspended and Corey Coleman out with a broken hand. Last week Pryor finished with 10 targets but ended with just 32 yards. Pryor is a punt play this week with Cody Kessler throwing him the ball this week.
